Fox Fix
Fox Fix is a correlation Systems' HF wave propagation calculation tool. The Fox Fix tool utilizes a unique technology called "virtual-ionosounder", which eliminates the need for the repeated measuring of the ionosphere height. The virtual-ionosounder technology uses predictive models of the ionosphere and SSL technology to calculate the propagation of HF transmissions and projects the results on the earth's surface. The use of the virtual-ionosounder technology, instead of conventional ionosounder measurements, has two main advantages:
While a regular ionosounder measures the height of the ionosphere at its location, the propagation of a transmission is effected by the ionosphere height at the locations of the signal's reflection from the ionosphere. The extrapolation of the ionosounder results to other locations is significantly less accurate than the use of virtual-ionosounder estimations.
The removal of the ionosounder, which is the only active element in a HF direction finding system, makes the maintenance of such a system simpler and cheaper.
Fox Fix is
adapted to work in a
grid environment (using the
ALCHEMI framework).
